Timmy Hord has a long history as an oil portrait painter and multi-media artist in her native city of Charlotte, NC. Her artworks and oil portraits grace many area homes and offices throughout the southeast since 1979. She accepts oil portrait and landscape commissions by appointment.
Timmy's first art education after high school was in studio and wedding photography with her namesake father, Tim Hord and watching her mother Aileen enhance his photographs with oil paint. Attending workshops with many talented artists in both photography and painting through the Professional Photographers of North Carolina and Professional Photographers of America Associations, she earned several professional degrees in the early 1990's. Her professional work focused on restoring photographs and oil painting photographic portraits before digital technology was the norm we appreciate today. She ventured into ceramics in 2006 and specializes in producing Scottish Quaich, ceremonial two-handled whisky cups, often gifted to those appreciated. She also creates funky tall functional vases for extreme pleasure. Studio / Galley visits are welcomed by appointment.
